From Xinhua:
BEIJING, Jan. 5 -- An international consulting company says the economic impact of the tsunamis may not be as severe as initially thought.
The director of the New Your based Euroasia group, John Green says the tourism industry may suffer in countries like Thailand, but it's not good to be overly-pessimistic.
He says most of the hardest-hit regions in Indonesia and Sri Lanka are not travel destinations so economic losses in these regions may not be as huge as anticipated.
"Thailand may suffer ahead to its tour economy, maybe one-third of its tour economy will take a serious hit, but that's only six percent of total Thai economy, so even Thailand, the economic damage won't be severe."
