The real purpose of those ribbons is to ease some of the guilt we feel for voting to send them to war and then making absolutely no sacrifices other than enduring two Wolf Blitzer shows a day. Where's the love?
It seems Joel Stein is today's favorite whipping boy. His Tuesday column, "Warriors and Wusses," in which he argues that saying you "support the troops" if you're against the war is pretty stupid, garnered him a newsworthy amount of hate mail says Reuters.
