Democrats cannot win on parity of religiosity and shouldn't try. . . .
We desperately need another frame, and I am suggesting that the frame be the Constitution itself. We can find all the arguments we need right there in that righteous text, in the collateral documents, and in the humanist, liberal extensions that are found in our just laws. Our opponents co-opted the flag. They even co-opted "patriotism." It is time for us to make the Constitution our own, and use it as martial arts practitioners do with the momentum generated by the other fellow's attack.
